The story

A celebrated icon from Campbeltown, the Springbank 10 Year Old is highly revered by collectors for its distinctive character and the distillery's unique production methods. This bottle represents a cornerstone of any serious whisky collection, embodying the traditional, complex, and unpeated-to-lightly-peated style that makes Springbank truly special and increasingly sought after in today's market.

Springbank

Campbeltown, Scotland

Springbank is Campbeltown's defining distillery, family-owned by J & A Mitchell since 1828 and one of very few to floor-malt, distil and bottle entirely on site. That self-sufficiency and a refusal to chase volume have made its releases — Local Barley, Countdown and the older Mitchell bottlings among them — some of the most pursued in Scotch, with allocations selling out instantly and sealed bottles climbing well past retail.

Tasting impressions

Nose

A complex nose opens with distinct maritime notes, a gentle waft of peat smoke, and sweet undertones of vanilla shortbread, evolving into hints of orchard fruits and a touch of citrus zest.

Palate

The palate is wonderfully oily and coating, delivering a harmonious blend of light peat, sea salt, and sweet malt. Notes of golden syrup, shortbread, and dried fruits intermingle with a subtle oak spice and a hint of brine.

Finish

The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering warmth with persistent coastal smoke, sweet vanilla, and a dry, malty character.
