Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-04-29

By accessing The Angel's Due, you agree to the terms below. They are written in plain English and kept short. If you find them unreasonable, please don't use the site.

What this site is

The Angel's Due is an editorial archive of rare and notable whiskies, maintained by Sandy Gill. The content is editorial — opinions, tasting notes, acquisition stories, and curatorial commentary. It is not investment advice, financial advice, legal advice, or medical advice.

Age requirement

You must be of legal drinking age in your country to use this site. By confirming age on the entry modal, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Angel's Due cannot verify identity and relies on your honest confirmation. If you are not of legal drinking age, please leave.

Editorial content

Tasting notes, valuations, and ratings reflect the curator's personal experience and judgement at the time of writing. Whisky values change; tasting impressions vary across bottles, glassware, occasions, and palates. Nothing here should be treated as a guarantee of value, character, or condition for any specific bottle you may encounter elsewhere.

Where the curator is uncertain, that uncertainty is expressed. Where the curator has been wrong before, that is acknowledged.

Affiliate links and external retailers

Some bottle pages contain affiliate links to third-party retailers. The Angel's Due does not sell whisky, does not handle payments, does not ship, and does not warrant any product available through linked retailers. Your transaction is between you and that retailer, governed by their terms and policies.

Full disclosure of the affiliate relationship is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Trademarks and brand attribution

Distillery names, bottle names, branding, and labels referenced on this site are the property of their respective owners. Their use here is for identification, commentary, and editorial criticism — purposes recognised under fair-use principles in U.S. copyright law and equivalent doctrines elsewhere. The Angel's Due is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any distillery or brand mentioned unless explicitly stated.

Personal liability and indemnification

The Angel's Due is provided as-is. No warranties of accuracy, fitness for purpose, or availability are given. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the curator and the site disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the content — including any losses from purchases made through linked retailers, decisions made on the basis of editorial recommendations, or consumption of any spirit.

Drink responsibly. Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, resources include the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (1-800-662-4357), Drinkaware (UK), and equivalents in your country.

User-generated content

The Angel's Due does not currently accept user comments, submissions, or uploads. If that changes, this section will be updated.

Intellectual property of the site

Editorial text, photographs taken by the curator, the site design, and the lockup are the property of Sandy Gill / The Angel's Due. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link back; please do not republish wholesale or use the site's identity to imply endorsement of unrelated commercial activity.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site evolves — for example, when affiliate partnerships are added, when a newsletter launches, or when direct sales are introduced. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California (where the curator is based), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
