Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated 2026-04-29
The Angel's Due is an editorial archive of rare and notable whiskies — a curator's ledger of bottles worth remembering. Some bottle pages contain links to retailers where the bottle is currently available for purchase. A small number of those links are affiliate links, which means The Angel's Due may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking through.
What this means
When you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase at the retailer's site, the retailer pays The Angel's Due a small percentage of the sale. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is identical to what you would pay arriving at the retailer directly. The commission helps cover the time and care that goes into maintaining the archive.
What this doesn't mean
Affiliate links never influence editorial judgement. A bottle does not earn a place in the archive because a retailer pays a higher commission, and a bottle is not omitted because it isn't available through an affiliate partner. The curator's notes, tasting impressions, valuations, and acquisition stories are written first; affiliate links are added later if and only if a bottle is in stock at a retailer The Angel's Due has a partnership with.
Where an affiliate link is present at the point of recommendation, it is labelled as such on the page. The presence of links does not constitute a recommendation to purchase.
Retailer partnerships
The Angel's Due participates (or intends to participate) in affiliate programs operated by reputable whisky retailers, which may include The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt, ReserveBar, Caskers, and others. Specific partnerships will be added or removed over time without notice.
Sponsored content
The Angel's Due does not currently accept paid sponsorships, paid product placements, or "complimentary" bottles in exchange for editorial coverage. If this policy ever changes, sponsored entries will be clearly and prominently labelled as such, separately from this affiliate disclosure.
Compliance
This disclosure follows United States Federal Trade Commission guidance on disclosing material connections in editorial content. It is provided in the spirit of full transparency about how the archive is funded.
