Springbank
Campbeltown, Scotland
Springbank is Campbeltown's defining distillery, family-owned by J & A Mitchell since 1828 and one of very few to floor-malt, distil and bottle entirely on site. That self-sufficiency and a refusal to chase volume have made its releases — Local Barley, Countdown and the older Mitchell bottlings among them — some of the most pursued in Scotch, with allocations selling out instantly and sealed bottles climbing well past retail.

A complex array of maritime notes, damp earth, and a delicate wisp of peat smoke. Hints of tropical fruits, dried apricots, and a touch of vanilla bean intertwine with a characteristic Campbeltown oiliness and salinity.
Palate
Rich and mouth-coating, displaying a beautiful balance of sweet and savoury. Notes of salted caramel, ripe mango, and passionfruit are complemented by a gentle, lingering peat, a hint of beeswax, and a distinct minerality.
Finish
Long, warming, and evolving, with a persistent interplay of gentle smoke, dark chocolate, and a final burst of sea salt and oak spice, leaving a pleasant oily sensation.
